Natalya……………third time around!

This took a bit of getting right - and I finally settled on the ‘one piece’ look! The pendant is a Swarovski Navette, the round beads are Swarovski pearls, and the rest are Miyuki seeds with Swarovski bicone edging. This is intended to be a workshop project, with the possibility of making it into a kit - but I’ll have to make another with instructions first!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Looking forward to next year - the workshops are going to be my main thing in 2009, I have Scotland booked in February, and the monthly Saturday workshops at Ossett may be increased to fortnightly, possibly in a more ‘arty’ venue!

I’m making designs now with a view to putting them up for sale as kits, the selling point being that most of my pieces have 3 or 4 different beading techniques in them, hopefully this will keep them interesting and challenging!

I’m going to have a meaningful discussion with a turkey crown now.

The Bead Shop Scotland 7th 8th & 9th February 09

I have just found out that one of the workshops is fully booked, and the other only has four places left………………..so I’m going to do another day! Saturday & Sunday are at Haddington, and I will be at the Edinburgh shop on Monday, unless that gets booked up early, in which case I might move up to Edinburgh! Details on the Bead Shop website http://www.beadshopscotland.co.uk/

That’s me until (nearly) Christmas!

I have two new ideas in the pipeline, but I won’t get the beads to make them with until at least Saturday………………..so, after trying flat herringbone and not being very struck on it, I think I’ll give my fingers a rest for a week. It’ll be the New Year before I have anything made though - it looks good on paper! Happy Yuletide everybody!

Self Representing Jewelry Artists………………………yes, I know I spelled it the American way - it’s an American website! Anyway, it’s a bit of a badge of honour (spelled the English way) to us struggling jewellery designers, in that it is a vetted membership site, and members must make their own work. To get to the point, Laura, who runs it, e mailed me the other day to ask if she could feature me on the site - errrr………..YES!!!!! I think I’ve spent so many hours learning this art the hard way, by trial and error, that it comes as a huge surprise when somebody actually classes my work as being good enough to put in the same room as my heroes work! Anyhoo, I’m there………alongside some really good stuff - have a look!

Facebook

I’m on it. I tried once before, and couldn’t understand a thing, so I signed up again………………….I still don’t understand a thing, but this time I feel a little less affected by my ignorance. I will be cool if it kills me.

I have also been invited to be featured on Laura Bracken’s site - Self Representing Jewelry Artists - now that is cool. http://www.srajewelry.com

Everything’s a bit off kilter at the moment, so I’ll post again when I have something to say………………………a picture of an AEC Militant - I passed my class 2 HGV on one of these!
