………cannon to the left of them, cannon to the right……….

Lovely phone call this morning - ‘we’ve had a cancellation, can you come in for your knee op on Monday?’ Yes, said I, not immediately though, because the first time she phoned I was just out of the bath, cleaning my teeth with the Nimbus 2000 while standing at the sink in the nude………………..and Nina passed me the phone. Mmmmwwwhhhhphglllgggllle, said I, so she phoned back. At least I’ll be all better for the next workshop in Ossett - did I mention it was the 22nd November?

Workshop Ossett Library

Good one this morning………………………..even if I did cock up one of the easiest stitches to teach! Such forgiving students! The next one’s on the 22nd November, not the last Saturday, and it will be spirally, sparkly, twisty, bendy, chrissy decorations - if I get the stitch right this time! I’m about to start work on a design to teach at The Bead Shop Scotland in February - if it’s as good as I think it is I’ll be making a kit of it in the new year.

Checked my web stats this morning to discover I’d been visited by a coachload of Russian beaders after a name check by Zoya Gutina - one of my favourite beadweavers - on a Russian beading forum………………………….now that is an honour, these guys can really bead!

Nina says it’s because they’ve taken pity on me for having a go at ‘proper beading’………………………..behind every good man there’s a critic!

Check out the new websites on my blogroll on the left!

The picture was done by my darling granddaughter at 14yrs old……………………proper artist.

Athene

She’s finished! The photo will improve, but here’s a snapshot - the cab is a Russian Charoite, and the sparkly bits are Swarovski! Right, here’s a better photo…………………it came out much better on white, thanks for the tip Gwen!

Next workshop at Ossett

Just a reminder that the next workshop at Ossett Library is the 25th! We are planning on doing coralled earrings in frosty christmassy beads, and really anything else I can fit in……………………….if anyone is still struggling with their right angle weave necklace from last month bring it in - can we fix it? yes we can!

I’m a toggle and loop away from finishing my latest project - ‘Athene’ will make her debut very soon!

Time for another cat picture………………………………

……………and while we’re all Russian………Lara

This is a little bracelet I made using a stitch from my White Russian book. When I finally decide to get my CD and phrase book out and learn a bit of Russian I may be able to tell you what it’s called…………………..at the moment it’s been named ‘Lara’, with apologies to Mr Pasternak.
