Now that’s better!

This morning’s workshop was the best one yet! It all went right. It went right because - I prepared for it, it was long enough (3 hours), the room was light & airy, and more importantly, the students came with the intention of enjoying themselves!
We made Russian leaf earrings, some of the ladies - and one man! - had no experience of beading at all, and they made Russian leaf earrings. Everyone there wanted another class, so I have booked for 27th September……………….only this time it’s 2 needle right angle weave, and a fire polished choker at the end of it! Sometimes it works throwing people in at the deep end!
If anyone from this morning’s workshop is reading this - thanks for making it so much fun, tutors need to enjoy it just as much as the students! Roll on the next one!
The earrings…………………..
Next month’s project………………….

I did a workshop on Wednesday. A basic beadweaving workshop. Six students. In a library room. Did it go well? Nope. My reasons for it not going well included having to rush to set up - 15 mins - and rush to finish and clear up - 15 mins - so to be blunt, I was sweating like the proverbial before I’d even started! Another thing I discovered is that you can’t teach everyone in the class peyote in two hours, the boredom factor kicks in after an hour. The level ranged from a lady who was ready to put a clasp on after an hour to another who was still struggling to thread the needle - I don’t know how to get round this without using the ‘beginner/intermediate/advanced’ thing, which I don’t like. I also have a feeling that, although I stressed it was ‘beadweaving’, a few were disappointed there was no sparkly necklace at the end. In that way I felt a bit of a fraud. I have another ‘basic’ class next Saturday, three hours this time, so it’s time to get back on the horse, figure out where I went wrong, and teach some people how to ‘beadweave’!

So much for the wonders of modern computing - it takes 48 hours to transfer a new domain name from one hosting package to another………………………..that’s almost as good as the banks that make us believe they still post our cheques to the other branch, taking 4 days. Right.
So, the name change. Sewell is my mother’s name. That’s it. All anybody needs to know. Beadsage is still me, and the Beadsage sites haven’t changed, they are listed on the blogroll at the side. Trying to find a piccy to open with now…………..
